Terms of Service

Last updated: May 17, 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using SoloDeck (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

2. The Service

SoloDeck is a business management platform for Canadian freelancers and sole proprietors. It provides invoicing, contract management, expense tracking, GST/HST calculation tools, and T2125 worksheet generation. The Service is provided “as is” for organizational and productivity purposes.

SoloDeck does not provide legal, accounting, or tax advice. The tax calculations, worksheets, and reports are tools to help you organize your records — they are not a substitute for a qualified accountant or tax professional. Always verify your tax filings with a CPA or the CRA before submitting.

3. Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts in Canada
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account and profile
  • One account per person — you may not share accounts or resell access

4. Subscription and billing

SoloDeck offers a Free plan and a Pro plan at $19 CAD per month (plus applicable taxes).

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe
  • You may cancel at any time — your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • We do not offer refunds for partial months
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice
  • Failed payments will result in a grace period before plan downgrade

5. Online payments (Stripe Connect)

If you enable online payments, you are opening a Stripe Express account. By doing so, you also agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.

  • SoloDeck charges a 0.5% platform fee on each card payment collected through the Service, in addition to Stripe's standard processing fees
  • Payouts to your bank account are subject to Stripe's payout schedule
  • You are responsible for issuing accurate invoices and collecting appropriate taxes from your clients
  • Chargebacks and disputes are handled through Stripe — SoloDeck is not liable for disputed funds

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Canadian law
  • Create fraudulent invoices or misrepresent your business
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service
  • Use the Service to process payments for prohibited goods or services under Stripe's policies
  • Share, resell, or sublicense access to the Service

7. Your data

You own all data you enter into SoloDeck — your clients, invoices, contracts, and financial records. By using the Service, you grant SoloDeck a limited license to store, process, and display that data solely to provide the Service to you. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for ensuring you have the right to share your clients' contact information with us.

8. Availability and support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (Stripe, Supabase, Clerk), or unforeseen issues may cause temporary downtime. SoloDeck is not liable for losses resulting from unavailability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, SoloDeck's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost revenue or tax penalties resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from the billing settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, you may request an export of your data within 30 days. After that period, data may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of SoloDeck after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
